Inspired by the challenging dynamic nature of the ocean, surfing clicked with Lee at an early age. Growing up in cold often terrible east coast surf, he lead the way in sharing “the stoke” for cold water sessions. He developed a reputation for being out training in any swell and always first in and last out. This lead to a unique knowledge of the banks and coastline and he soon became the man to ask on the all important where and when to surf. His drive to inspire others lead to his leading role in setting up Edinburgh University Windsurfing and Surfing club, which quickly became the largest surf club in the UK.

He continually worked hard at EUWSC to organize surfing trips locally to east coast breaks and weekend trips to Thurso to show students what Scotland had to offer. His knowledge of the waves locally and his commitment to surfing in all conditions was demonstrated by his ease in winning the east versus west Scottish surfing competition. An impressive show left him head and shoulders above the pack and set in stone his leadership on the coast. After many years leading the club lead embarked upon his final trip south to Newquay for British University National Surfing Championships. This lead to an impressive end to his time a EUWSC proving that hard work and passionate commitment pay off as he eliminated many sponsored favorites on the way to the finals. Finishing in the top 10 in Britain was an achievement Lee does not bring up himself but it represents his adaptability to beat Britain’s best local surfers at there home break and truly mix it up with the best.

Finding time to surf and run a large club while studying to his masters degree in Chemistry gave Lee the skill set and inspiration he required to setup a dynamic surf brand. Qualifying highly in his master’s degree he was quickly snapped up by an up and coming electronics company who realised his sales potential. As the work environment began to take its tole through the frustrations of dealing with people who did not share his vision of high standards and customer satisfaction, the draw of a lifestyle based around the real passion in his life became to strong. Teaming up with Duncan, Narosa was born during a surf at a local break. Sharing a few waves they came up with the concept based around the philosophical approach of “ What would you do tomorrow if you knew you could not fail?”

Tied to this approach would be the drive to get the people inspired to “Explore your passion”. This would involve making the most of the ocean and mountain environment and promoting around health alternative lifestyle through a sense of well being. The wheels were in place and with the fantastic location of Dunfanaghy providing the surf under the backdrop of Muckish Mountain, Narosa 'where the headlands meet the Sea' began Business. . . . .

Always in tune with the surf he has an unrivaled ability to always find a peak and hack a big turn. Now residing on the west coast of Ireland with a large expanse of coastline and extremely consistent surf on his doorstep it’s the setup he has been dreaming of!! He regularly shows the flare and intuition that give him the name bad bad leeroy brown!! If you don’t find him in the shop, he's probably flying down the line about to get it on rail!!
